Teachers Lab
EnergyAustralia has been providing primary school teachers with syllabus based material on electricity and electrical safety for some time. In 2006, the EnergyAustralia program was updated in conjunction with the NSW Department of Education, K-6 SciTech Unit and a group of SciTech Coordinators.

Online Quiz
To assist EnergyAustralia in learning more about what children do and don't know about electrical safety, we'd really appreciate your class taking the online quiz for us.
EnergyAustralia Electricity Safety Week 2008 Design Competition
Each year, EnergyAustralia invites schools in its network area to submit entries to its Electricity Safety Week competition, open to Stage 3 (Year 5 & 6) students.
During 2008, Electricity Safety Week will run in Term 3 from September 1 to 5.
Prizes will be awarded for the best model developed by Year 5 or 6 students. The major prize is a class trip to the Renewable Energy exhibition at Sydney Olympic park to undertake one of the terrific science learning programs. Bus costs and lunch for the entire class of participating students (up to 40 students) will be provided for each winning class.
2007 class-winning competition teacher comment
"They enjoyed the activities at Olympic park...this actually showed them what fair testing and experimenting is about. We don't have equipment available to do this at my school...The greatest benefit of the competition was the fact that the children could experiment with this equipment. Thanks for a great day."
Competition entry information
To register your interest in participating, email your name, school, and mailing address to esw@primary-pr.com or call 9212 3888 to receive a participation prize pack for your class.
